Horse
Horses have held an important place in Japanese culture since ancient times. In Shinto belief, horses were considered sacred animals and messengers of the Gods and therefore would often kept at Shrines and Temples. During the Samurai era, horses symbolized power, loyalty, status and military strength, often playing a crucial role in warfare.
Red Hare
The Red Hare (Chìtù) is a legendary, powerful steed from China’s Three Kingdoms period. Famed for its red coat and incredible speed, often described as capable of galloping over moats and covering great distances. Famously paired with legendary warriors Lü Bu and later Guan Yu, it is celebrated in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, embodying supreme loyalty and strength, sometimes depicted as refusing to eat and dying after its final master’s death.
