Simply put, POA stands for “Price on Application”.
With some of our pieces, we prefer not to openly publish our asking price. We absolutely welcome visitors to the website to contact us to enquire about the cost of such pieces.
We just prefer to have a conversation to allow us to explain the pricing as well as to talk in more detail about the piece in question.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a super expensive piece but it may just be that there is something unique or special that we would like to be able to tell you about in more detail.

This wonderful Bronze Okimono group depicts the popular Japanese mythical character of Gama Sennin sitting atop a giant toad. He holds an umbrella (made out of a giant flower head) above his head and he is surrounded by a further two large toads whilst a smaller one stands on his shoulders trying to benefit from the shelter from the umbrella.
Beautifully detailed, the characters all have Silver inlaid eyes and Gama Sennin also has silver teeth.
Condition is very good. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.
Toad (Gama Sennin)
Toads appear in many popular Japanese folk tales such as Jiraiya, a ninja who used shape-shifting magic to transform into a giant toad.
They are also a symbol of Gama Sennin which translates as ‘Toad Immortal’ is almost always seen with at least one toad. He is based on the 10th century Chinese alchemist, Liu Hai, who learned the secrets of immortality from a great three legged toad. He is a master of healing and herbs and has the ability to transform into a toad as well as fly, and release his spirit from his body.
