Simply put, POA stands for “Price on Application”.
With some of our pieces, we prefer not to openly publish our asking price. We absolutely welcome visitors to the website to contact us to enquire about the cost of such pieces.
We just prefer to have a conversation to allow us to explain the pricing as well as to talk in more detail about the piece in question.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a super expensive piece but it may just be that there is something unique or special that we would like to be able to tell you about in more detail.

A large and imposing pair of Bronze statues depicting Raijin (God of Thunder and Lightning) and Fujin (God of the Wind.) These two statues measure 90cms in height and date from the reign of Emperor Meiji. (1868 – 1912)
Raijin is seen standing on one leg and beating a drum, whilst Fujin (also on one leg) is playing a flute. Both have Oni-like appearance.
Raijin and Fujin
Raijin and Fujin are two of the oldest Japanese Shinto kami (gods). Raijin is the god of lightning, thunder and storms and as such is usually beating a large drum, his brother Fujin is the god of the wind and is often seen charging through the clouds with a large bag of wind. Despite their fearsome appearances they are often depicted as protectors and it is not uncommon to see large statues of the pair guarding the entrance to shrines.
