Qianlong Emperor
Emperor Qianlong was the sixth Emperor of the Qing dynasty. His reign lasted from 1735 to 1796 when he abdicated to allow his Son to take over and so that he didn’t surpass the reign of his father, the Kangxi Emperor.
Clobbered
The term “clobbered” or “clobber ware” refers to Chinese export porcelain that has had its original blue and white under glaze added to at a later date usually with coloured enamel decoration. The practice originated in Holland and spread through Europe. It was often used to enhance Chinese ceramics to make them appeal to European tastes it could also be used to disguise damage or repairs.
