With a thoughtful and friendly face, this endearing Bronze Okimono of a monkey is part of our collection of Japanese Meiji-era statues of animals and birds.
In a seated position and holding a single feather, the figures gilded eyes gaze into the distance to create a human-like expression.
Bears the mark of a Crane in flight to the base.
A large statue (measuring 27cms in height) he sits on a hard wood base and is offered in excellent condition.
