From our collection of antique Japanese metalware, this impressive late 19th Century Bronze vase with moulded three-dimensional decoration of an Egret amongst Lotus Blossom.
The front of the vase features the Silver-patinated bird sheltering below large Lotus blossoms. A small frog has unwittingly emerged from the water and has seemed to have caught the Egrets attention.
The reverse of the vase is plain but features impressive Copper marbling within the Bronze. This is used to great effect on the front of the vase, giving colour to the lotus leaves and the frog.
The vase is 51cm in height, 21cm across at the neck and 32cm across at the widest point
Offered in excellent condition and signed Kunichika to the underside.
Please feel free to contact us for additional images, information or to arrange a viewing.
