We just prefer to have a conversation to allow us to explain the pricing as well as to talk in more detail about the piece in question.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a super expensive piece but it may just be that there is something unique or special that we would like to be able to tell you about in more detail.

From our collection of Japanese Meiji-era (1868-1912) metalwork, this dramatic Bronze Okimono depicting the legend of Tadatsune slaying the giant boar.
The legend took place during the Grand Hunting event Fuji no Makigari which was hosted by Shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo at the foot of Mount Fuji. Tadatsune was an attendant of the Shogun.
In this piece, the warrior is riding backwards on the raging boar, poised to deliver a fatal blow.

Tadatsune
Tadatsune was a twelfth century Samurai who fought for Yoritomo, helping to defeat the Tiara clan. For this, he received the title of Sotsuihoshi or Superintendant of the sixty-six provinces.
Yorimoto organised a great hunting party, inviting all the feudal lords. It took place on the slopes of Mount Fuji and was attended by 10,000 people. On the third day of the hunt, an unusually large wild Boar, wounded by arrows, charged right at the crowd surrounding the Shogun Yoritomo. Tadatsune spring off the back of his horse and onto the back of the boar, and riding it backwards seized the tail and delivered a killing blow with his Tanto. For this act of bravery the Shogun awarded him 150 acres of land.
