Simply put, POA stands for “Price on Application”.
With some of our pieces, we prefer not to openly publish our asking price. We absolutely welcome visitors to the website to contact us to enquire about the cost of such pieces.
We just prefer to have a conversation to allow us to explain the pricing as well as to talk in more detail about the piece in question.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a super expensive piece but it may just be that there is something unique or special that we would like to be able to tell you about in more detail.

From our collection of fine Japanese ceramics of the late 19th Century, this elegant Satsuma vase signed Sozan and of a squat-bottle form. The vase is decorated with two large panels depicting idyllic scenes and on a classical dark-blue ground with a gold foliate decoration.
One panel is a busy scene with a crown of colourfully, well-dressed people on a small lakeside dock. Several boats are coming and going as the patrons queue beneath a blossoming tree. Across the water, mountains can be seen in the distance.
The reverse panel showing a group of luxuriously-dressed Bijin and a child in an Autumn garden. One of the ladies stoops to pick flowers while the others engage in conversation.
The vase is 4cm across at the neck and 12cm across at the widest point.
