We just prefer to have a conversation to allow us to explain the pricing as well as to talk in more detail about the piece in question.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a super expensive piece but it may just be that there is something unique or special that we would like to be able to tell you about in more detail.

From our collection of Japanese metalwork of the late 19th Century, this interesting Meiji-era Bronze vase with multi-patinated decoration depicting Geese in flight.
The vase features a beautifully rendered design showing a pair of Geese coming down to land no a lake. Their plumage highlighted in subtle Silver and Shakudo.
To the top of the vase, wispy clouds are also highlighted using similar techniques and flush inlaid reeds and other vegetation mark the edge of the water. An interesting basket/net sits at the bottom of the image seemingly containing different coloured rocks and pebbles.
Offered in fine condition as shown in the photographs and signed to the underside. Please feel free to contact us for further information, images, video or to arrange a viewing in person.

Geese
The Geese depicted here are likely to be White-fronted Geese, a species which due to conservation efforts in the 1980s is now once again common in Japan.
Goose meat has long been regarded as a luxury for the Imperial classes and aristocracy. The White-fronted Goose is a popular motif on family crests and paintings and frequently appears in Japanese folklore and poems.
