From our collection of antique Japanese ceramics, this finely decorated miniature Satsuma moon flask signed Seikozan. The front depicting a scene with noble folk standing by an opulent stage with dancers and entertainers. On the reverse, in a square panel that fills the body of the vase, a bustling market scene sampling Sake.
The foot of the vase with repeated geometric design and the neck with an attractive Chrysanthemum border. Offered in very good condition as shown in the photographs and signed Seikozan at the bottom of the flask. Please feel free to contact us for further information, additional images or to arrange a viewing.

Moon Flask
The moon flask or pilgrim vase is characterised by its flat circular shape which represents the moon. It’s a shape very popular in Chinese porcelain and was inspired by middle eastern metal ware.
