Magatama
Magatama are curved beads, resembling Tigers teeth. They have had spiritual and religious associations for centuries and early forms of Magatama have been found as far back as the Jomon period (c1000 BC).
They are part of the Japanese Imperial Regalia (similar to the crown jewels) and represent benevolence and divine authority.
Kannon (Guan Yin)
Kannon, also known as Guan Yin in Chinese, is the Japanese Bodhisattva of compassion and mercy, derived from the Sanskrit Avalokiteśvara.
Widely venerated in Japanese Buddhism, Kannon embodies boundless compassion and is believed to hear the cries of the suffering. Often depicted with multiple arms or heads to aid many beings, Kannon appears in both male and female forms, though predominantly feminine in Japan. Temples such as Sanjūsangen-dō and Hase-dera are dedicated to her worship. She plays a central role in Pure Land and Tendai traditions, offering salvation and spiritual guidance to those who call upon her name.
