Make us an offer – putting the “Dealing” back into “Antique Dealing”

Those of our clients and followers who have a “good eye” may have noticed a new feature that we have introduced to our website recently.

“Make us an Offer”

We know that one of the most exciting elements of purchasing fine art and antiques is the thrill of the chase.

Finding the right piece to add to your collection is the first step. Then, for many collectors, the real excitement comes with the subsequent bidding battle or negotiation process that follows as you look to complete the purchase at a price that you are happy with.

With more and more sales being processed “remotely” and “online” these days, that vital, fun, personal interaction that comes with bargaining and “doing the deal” is often, sadly lost.

So with that in mind, we have introduced our new “Make us an Offer” functionality across a selection of our online collection of Chinese and Japanese Fine Art and Antiques.

Where you see “Make us an Offer” displayed on priced items, you are able to fill out a very short form and submit your Offer price.

We will then personally come back to you (via your preferred method of communication, be it a phone call, email or WhatsApp) either to accept your offer or to offer a counter-offer of our own.

You don’t have to worry about causing offence. If your offer is lower than our “ultimate best price”, you will simply see an automated message that says “Thank you but your offer is too low. Please feel free to try again.”

We have quietly been trialling this functionality on our website over the last couple of months and it has proven to be very popular with our clients with one collector saying …

“It’s great to see somebody putting the “Dealing” back into Antique Dealing.”

Over the next few weeks and months, we will be adding “Make us an Offer” to more of our existing and new stock and of course, if there is a piece that you are interested in that doesn’t have “Make us an Offer” shown yet, you can always contact us to express your interest and we will be very happy to have a conversation.
