Gone but not forgotten: 2025 in pictures

 

As we enter 2026 and look forward to the coming Year of the Horse, we allow ourselves one last look back at some of the wonderful works of art that we said a fond farewell to over the last 12 months.

“The boys in their boats”: This charming pair of Satsuma vases by Yabu Meizan was purchased by a British collector 

 

“A word for the wise”: This delightful Silvered-Bronze Owl flew the nest back in early Spring.

 

“One of the finest Satsuma vases we have ever seen”: This exceptional reticulated “Four Seasons” vase by the Kinkozan Company has joined a growing collection of masterful Japanese works of art.

 

This exquisite pair of vases from the celebrated Komai Company and depicting the process of Silk production, found a wonderful new home in North America as part of an outstanding collection of Japanese art.

 

This charming Satsuma dish showing a bustling market-scene was acquired by a new British client earlier in the year.

 

“Black Hawk Down”: We were sad to say goodbye to this wonderful Bronze Okimono of a Hawk

 

As we moved out of our Warehouse last month, we sold some wonderful Chinese and Japanese antique furniture. We are delighted that these pieces have now got a new life and are being used as originally intended. 

 

After some 150 years away, this pretty Satsuma dish by Ikko has returned to Japan

 

While this beautiful Silver trinket box by Kazuteru has journeyed just 3 miles up the road to its lovely new home

 

This beautiful “pierced Wisteria” vase signed Suwa Sozan was sold before it even made it onto the website. We quite often post previews of stock to our Instagram stories for our followers to see before we publish them to our website.

 

2025 was “Year of the Snake” so it was fitting that this masterful pair of vases from the Ozeki Company found a new home after many years at Kevin Page Oriental Art

 

One of the last pieces to leave in 2025, this beautifully painted, square form Satsuma vase from the Yasuda Company

 

We are always a bit sad when such beautiful works of art leave the collection, but equally, very pleased to see them going to such good homes.
